Serve So That Christ Is Seen

This summer, I have the opportunity to serve in Nicaragua with Amigos for Christ from May 24 to July 11 on the Partnerships (Alianzas) Team. Amigos for Christ exists “to serve so that Christ becomes more visible,” and that is exactly what I want my life to reflect.

Each week, I will be helping lead and support mission teams as they come in—welcoming them, building relationships, and walking alongside them throughout their time. We will also be serving in local communities through hands-on work, such as digging water lines and helping with projects.

By meeting physical needs like water and basic resources, we can build real relationships. Those relationships create opportunities for the long-term staff at Amigos to share the Gospel and point people to Christ. It’s not just about what we do—it’s about how we love people and make Jesus known through it.

Why This Matters to Me

God has been growing in me a deep desire to serve Him internationally. This internship is not just a one-time experience—it is preparing me for what I feel called to do after college.

I want to serve with a Christian nonprofit, helping meet real physical needs like water and food, while ultimately sharing the Gospel. This opportunity is helping me take a real step into that calling—learning how to serve cross-culturally, build relationships, and be part of a ministry that meets both physical and spiritual needs.
