I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and be served in beautiful Chinandega Nicaragua with Amigos for Christ.
10 days ago, I returned from a week in Nicaragua. During that week, I fell in love over and over and over. What an incredible opportunity to meet, such gracious, kind, hopeful, hard-working people.
It’s funny how you go there thinking and hoping you’re going to help and serve, but you soon realize that you will never ever ever begin to help or serve as much as you will instead be receiving so much love in your heart, almost more than it can even hold ❤️
We were given the tremendous opportunity to assist alongside many Nicas in the community with digging trenches and laying pipe to ultimately provide clean water (unlike the bacterial, parasitic wells they currently use for their water). Yes it is 2024 and in this tiny part of the world (among so many other places still in our world) there are still sooo many without clean water. Yes, WITHOUT clean water :
What can WE do? We have the opportunity to change their lives. Simply by helping them have clean water, something we have every single day and don’t even realize it as we turn the faucet on without a second thought. Please don’t read this and scroll on. Please realize the impact we could make if everyone reading this just said yes to whatever they could afford. Give up a coffee or going out to lunch or buying more “stuff” and I guarantee you will feel better knowing you have helped dramatically impact their life today AND their future
