Hi everyone!
On March 1st, I am running the Fuego y Agua 30k on Ometepe Island in support of clean water for communities in Nicaragua. I am fundraising for Amigos for Christ, a nonprofit organization that facilitates leadership, water, health, education, and economic development in rural Nicaraguan communities. In 2016, I spent a week in Chinandega, Nicaragua helping Amigos build a school for the children in Chinandega. Witnessing firsthand how impactful Amigos is for Nicaraguan communities, I am excited and humbled to raise money for such a life changing organization.
Amigos is in the Department of Chinandega where there are around 100,000 people who still lack access to clean water and instead use contaminated hand-dug wells or rivers for their water needs. This leads to a host of health problems, specifically diarrheal diseases in children. Your donation will go directly to this year's clean water projects. The projection of the infrastructure team is to construct 5 water systems during the year. Thus, your money has the ability to impact around (minimum) 1000 people.
Thank you for your support!
